Zyposa Tablet 10’s belongs to a category of medications known as azole antifungals. It is utilized to prevent and treat fungal infections when other antifungal treatments have failed or when you have had to discontinue their use. Additionally, it is indicated for the prevention of invasive Aspergillus and Candida infections in patients who are at a heightened risk of developing these infections due to severe immunocompromised states, such as recipients of hematopoietic stem cell transplants (HSCT) with graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) or individuals with hematologic malignancies experiencing prolonged neutropenia as a result of chemotherapy.
Zyposa Tablet 10’s contains the active ingredient posaconazole. This triazole antifungal agent works by inhibiting specific enzymes (P-450 dependent enzyme, sterol 14α-demethylase). This inhibition disrupts the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, leading to the accumulation of methylated sterol precursors. Consequently, this results in the suppression of fungal cell growth and ultimately cell death, thereby treating infections.
It is important to take Zyposa Tablet 10’s exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
