Natzold 5mg Infusion contains Zoledronic Acid as its active ingredient. This medication is classified under bisphosphonates. It is utilized to lower elevated calcium levels in the blood of adult patients, particularly when these levels are heightened due to tumors. Tumors can disrupt normal bone metabolism, leading to increased calcium release from the bones. This condition is referred to as tumor-induced hypercalcemia (TIH). Additionally, it is prescribed to prevent bone complications in adult patients suffering from multiple myeloma and bone metastases originating from solid tumors, alongside standard cancer treatments.

Natzold 5mg Infusion is also indicated for the prevention or treatment of osteoporosis, a condition characterized by fragile and weak bones that are prone to fractures, in women post-menopause. Furthermore, it is effective in treating osteoporosis in men. The medication is also used for managing Paget’s disease of bone, which results in soft, weak bones that may become deformed, painful, or easily fractured. Other applications include the treatment or prevention of osteoporosis in both men and women who are on glucocorticoids, a type of corticosteroid medication that can lead to osteoporosis.

This injection should not be administered if you have an allergy to zoledronic acid, any other bisphosphonate, or any components of this medication, and it is contraindicated during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Prior to starting treatment, it is essential to inform your healthcare provider if you have any kidney or liver issues, bone disorders, pain, swelling, or numbness in the jaw. This medicine is not suitable for adolescents and children under 18 years of age. Natzold 5mg Infusion is not a form of cancer chemotherapy and will not impede or halt cancer progression. However, it can be beneficial in treating bone disorders in cancer patients.
