Rituxirel 500mg Injection contains rituximab as its active ingredient. This medication is prescribed for a range of serious health conditions in adults and, in some cases, children. It is used either on its own or in combination with other drugs to treat non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma—a type of cancer that targets white blood cells known as B-lymphocytes—and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, the most common form of leukemia that also affects B-cells. Additionally, Rituxirel is indicated for moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults when used alongside methotrexate. It is also approved for treating granulomatosis with polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis—rare conditions characterized by blood vessel inflammation affecting primarily the lungs and kidneys—in adults and children aged two years and above. Another approved use is for moderate to severe pemphigus vulgaris, an autoimmune disease that leads to painful blisters on the skin and mucous membranes including the mouth, nose, throat, and genitals.

Rituxirel belongs to a class of drugs called anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies, which work by targeting and destroying specific B-cells that contribute to these illnesses. You should not receive this injection if you are allergic to rituximab or any other components of the formulation, have a weakened immune system, or are suffering from a serious active infection. Before beginning treatment, inform your doctor if you have any heart-related issues, breathing problems, or a history of hepatitis B infection, as this virus can sometimes become active again during treatment, potentially leading to severe consequences.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding should be avoided during treatment due to potential risks to the fetus or infant. Women who are of childbearing potential should use effective contraception during the course of treatment and for at least 12 months after receiving the last dose.

Some common side effects associated with Rituxirel 500mg Injection include bloodstream infections, anemia, dizziness, facial or body swelling, skin itching, diarrhea, increased perspiration, and fluctuations in blood pressure. In some patients, serious infusion-related reactions may occur either during the administration or within 24 hours afterward. Be vigilant and report any signs of such reactions—such as elevated blood pressure, chest pain, shortness of breath, headache, nausea, skin rash, or swelling in the throat—to your healthcare provider immediately
