Orcefo SB 3gm Injection comprises two active ingredients within a single injection. One of these active components is Cefoperazone, which is classified as a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. The other active ingredient is Sulbactam, categorized as a beta-lactamase inhibitor.
This combination effectively targets a broad spectrum of bacteria, making this medication commonly prescribed for serious infections, including urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, septicemia, meningitis, skin infections, bone infections, and endometritis.
Orcefo SB 3gm Injection is not recommended for individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergies to it or any of its components. If you have an allergy to any antibiotic class, inform your physician. The consumption of alcohol (including alcoholic drinks, medications containing alcohol, mouthwashes, or food preparations) during and up to five days after the administration of Orcefo SB 3gm Injection may lead to a disulfiram-like reaction. This reaction can manifest as flushing, sweating, headaches, and an increased heart rate. It is crucial to refrain from alcohol during this timeframe.
If you experience severe or bloody stools while using Orcefo SB 3gm Injection, notify your doctor. Prior to taking this medication, consult your physician if you have liver disorders, bowel diseases, or clotting disorders. This medication should only be used during pregnancy if absolutely necessary.
As this medication is poorly transferred into the breast milk of nursing mothers, caution is advised during breastfeeding. It is vital to seek further guidance from your physician.
