Urotone SR Tablet is indicated for the treatment of urinary retention, which may occur due to surgery, childbirth, or issues with bladder muscles.

This tablet contains bethanechol, a medication that assists in alleviating the inability to urinate by acting on the muscles of the bladder. It stimulates the detrusor muscle, which is responsible for bladder contraction, thereby facilitating the expulsion of urine and initiating the urination process.

Possible side effects include abdominal discomfort, nausea, diarrhea, a strong urge to urinate, excessive salivation, skin flushing, and sweating. If these side effects persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional.

Avoid using Urotone SR Tablet if you have a known allergy to bethanechol or any of its components. Additionally, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or nursing. If prescribed Urotone SR Tablet, it is important to avoid alcohol consumption, as it may exacerbate side effects. Furthermore, refrain from engaging in activities that require full alertness, such as driving or operating heavy machinery, since Urotone SR Tablet may induce dizziness.

Urinary retention (holding urine in the bladder)
Reflux oesophagitis (inflammation of the oesophagus)

Urotone 25mg tablet stimulates muscarinic receptors, causing smooth muscle contractions in the bladder and gastrointestinal tract. This helps relieve urinary retention and promote normal bodily functions.

Notify your physician of any prescribed drugs, over-the-counter medications, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products you are currently taking or have previously taken prior to the treatment. Some medications may interact with Urotone 25mg tablet and could lead to unwanted side effects.

pUrotone SR Tablet should be taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals to prevent nausea and vomiting.
It is usually taken 3-4 daily or as prescribed by your doctor.
Swallow Urotone SR Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
Do not crush, chew, or break it.

• Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.

• Keep out of sight and reach of children.

• Non cold chain - To be stored in cool places at 10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC.

Do not use Urotone SR Tablet if you have an allergy to any of its ingredients.

Before starting Urotone SR Tablet, please inform your doctor if you have had any recent surgeries, stomach or intestinal ulcers, bladder obstruction, peritonitis (an infection of the stomach lining), or inflammatory bowel disease (which involves inflammation of the digestive tract).

Taking Urotone SR Tablet under these conditions may exacerbate your illness.

Urotone SR Tablet has the potential to induce atrial fibrillation (issues with heart rhythm) in individuals with hyperthyroidism (an overactive thyroid).

In patients with lung conditions such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Urotone SR Tablet may worsen symptoms due to its airway constricting effects.

Avoid using Urotone SR Tablet in individuals with heart conditions, hypotension (low blood pressure), bradycardia (slow heart rate), seizures, or Parkinson’s disease.

Refrain from consuming alcohol, as it may heighten feelings of dizziness.

Notify your doctor if you are pregnant or nursing.

To minimize dizziness caused by this medication, rise slowly from a sitting or lying position.
