Powercort-S 3% Lotion contains Clobetasol propionate (a corticosteroid) and Salicylic acid (a peeling agent). Clobetasol propionate is a corticosteroid that inhibits the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) responsible for redness, swelling, and itching in the affected area. Salicylic acid acts as a keratolytic agent, softening, separating, and promoting the peeling of the cornified epithelium or outer layer of skin. It enhances skin moisture and helps dissolve the substance that causes skin cells to adhere together.

Common side effects of Powercort-S 3% Lotion may include itching, dryness, and a burning sensation at the site of application.
