Invy HMG HP 75IU Injection, containing the active substance Menotrophin, is an ovulation stimulator categorized under gonadotropins. It is a highly purified combination of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinising hormone (LH), both of which are naturally occurring hormones essential for the normal functioning of reproductive organs in both males and females.
This injection is utilized to address infertility in women who are not ovulating, including those diagnosed with polycystic ovarian disease who have not responded to prior treatment with clomiphene citrate. It is also employed to stimulate the development of multiple follicles, thereby enhancing fertility in women undergoing assisted reproductive technologies like IVF (in-vitro fertilization) or other forms of assisted conception. Furthermore, it is indicated for the treatment of infertility in men attributed to a low sperm count.
However, Invy HMG HP 75IU Injection should not be used if you are allergic to menotrophin or any of its other ingredients. It is also contraindicated if you have a tumor in the pituitary gland (a gland at the base of the brain that produces hormones, including growth hormones), the hypothalamus (an area below the thalamus that regulates bodily conditions like temperature and blood pressure), or in the uterus, ovaries, breast, testicles, or prostate gland. Before starting treatment, your doctor will assess you for an underactive thyroid, hormone levels, and tumors of the pituitary and hypothalamus.
Do not take this medicine if you have ovarian cysts not caused by PCOD, unexplained vaginal bleeding, early menopause, physical abnormalities in your reproductive organs, if your womb has been removed, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is crucial to inform your physician immediately if you experience symptoms such as abdominal pain and swelling, weight gain, diarrhea, difficulty breathing, or decreased urination. Additionally, inform your physician if you have or have had a liver problem or a history of blood clotting disorders before initiating treatment.
