Lacarnit 1gm injection is classified as an amino acid medication, containing the active ingredient levocarnitine. This protein is utilized to address carnitine deficiency in adults, children, infants, and newborns. It is also prescribed to prevent and manage carnitine deficiency in patients with end-stage renal disease who are undergoing dialysis. Carnitine deficiency occurs when the body does not have enough levocarnitine. This medication helps restore this protein, supplying energy to the body. Prior to commencing treatment, it is essential to inform your doctor of any underlying medical conditions.
Do not use lacarnit 1gm injection if you are allergic to it or any of its other components. Before starting this medication, consult your doctor if you have severe kidney issues or are receiving dialysis. Furthermore, if you have diabetes and are on insulin or other diabetes treatments, or if you are taking anticoagulant medications such as warfarin or other blood-thinning drugs, discuss this with your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, suspect you may be pregnant, or become pregnant while using this injection. Your doctor will determine whether you should continue with the medication. If you intend to breastfeed, seek your doctor’s guidance.
