Sevlaren 800mg Tablet contains an active ingredient known as Sevelamer. This medication falls under the category of phosphate binders. It is utilized to manage hyperphosphatemia (elevated blood phosphate levels) in adult patients receiving dialysis (either hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis) and those with chronic kidney disease who exhibit increased serum phosphorus levels. It should be administered alongside other treatments, such as calcium supplements and vitamin D, to avert bone disease. Elevated blood phosphorus levels can lead to calcification, resulting in hard deposits that stiffen blood vessels and impede blood flow.

Do not take Tab Sevlaren if you are allergic to Sevelamer or any of its components. Refrain from using this medication if you have low phosphate levels or a bowel obstruction. Prior to taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, suspect you might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Before initiating treatment, make sure to tell your doctor if you experience difficulties swallowing or if you have issues with your stomach and bowel movements.

Additionally, notify your doctor if you currently have bowel inflammation or have undergone significant stomach or bowel surgery. Sevlaren 800mg is not advised for children under six years of age due to insufficient studies regarding its safety and efficacy in that demographic. If your doctor has indicated a sugar intolerance, please consult them before using this medication, as it contains lactose.
