ERLOTAD 100MG

Erlotad tablet contains the active ingredient erlotinib. This medication is classified as an anticancer agent and falls under the category of tyrosine kinase receptor inhibitors. It is utilized in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), which is a more advanced and aggressive form of lung cancer.

In conjunction with gemcitabine, a chemotherapy drug, it is also indicated for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. Erlotad functions by inhibiting the protein that promotes cancer growth, known as epidermal growth factor receptors (EGFR). If tests indicate that your cancer has specific alterations in the EGFR gene, it may respond positively to this treatment.

Before commencing treatment, inform your doctor if you are taking any medications that reduce stomach acid, as these may interfere with the effectiveness of erlotad. Additionally, notify your physician if the patient has any issues related to the kidneys or lungs. It is crucial to disclose all medications you are currently taking prior to starting this treatment. Report any symptoms such as difficulty breathing accompanied by a cough or fever, chest pain, fever, weakness, or seizures.
