Hepabig 100IU injection contains human hepatitis B immunoglobulin, an antiviral agent. It is used in adults and children to provide protection against the hepatitis B virus, commonly administered alongside the hepatitis B vaccine. The hepatitis B virus is known to damage the liver, progressively impairing its function. This medicine can also be given to newborn babies whose mothers are infected with the hepatitis B virus.
Do not take this drug if you are allergic to hepatitis B Immunoglobulin or any of its other ingredients. This vaccine is typically administered if you have been exposed to the virus, or if your previous hepatitis B vaccination has proven ineffective. It is also given to individuals undergoing kidney dialysis, especially while awaiting the full effectiveness of a hepatitis B vaccination.
