Resof Total Tablet contains two active ingredients: Sofosbuvir and Velpatasvir, and is primarily used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Hepatitis C is a viral infection that targets the liver, often leading to long-term liver complications if left untreated. Resof Total offers a more streamlined and shorter treatment duration compared to older regimens, though the exact length of therapy may vary based on the genotype of the virus, previous treatment history, and the presence or absence of liver cirrhosis.

Successful treatment with Resof Total can greatly reduce liver inflammation and scarring (fibrosis) caused by chronic HCV infection. By eliminating the virus from the body, it significantly lowers the risk of progression to severe liver conditions, such as cirrhosis, liver failure, or hepatocellular carcinoma (a form of liver cancer).

This medication should not be taken if you have a known allergy or hypersensitivity to Sofosbuvir, Velpatasvir, or any other ingredients in the tablet. Additionally, its safety and effectiveness have not been fully established in children under 18 years of age, and its use in this age group remains limited. In such cases, alternative treatments or appropriate dose adjustments may be considered under a doctor’s supervision
